2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Environment Design and Character - Ben Gaspers shows you how to create a background environment and how to make that character interact with that environment. Room 142.
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: How to Bring Comics in the Classroom & Beyond - Panelists Maria Sosa, Matt Dembicki, and Jason Rodriguez will discuss using the comics medium to present science and environmental issues. Matt will talk about his collaboration with Pangea Seed on the comics anthology Wild Ocean and his trip to Peru to talk to students and teachers about environmental comics. Jason will talk about his upcoming pilot program with Maria Sosa Senior Project Director from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) "Science Outreach Through Art and Comics." 12:15 PM - 1:15 PM: The Sequential Art of Creating a Sci-Fi Comic - Chris Pyrate discusses his creative process and how to effectively tell story where buildings across multiple panels. Room 142
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Painting Digitally with Photoshop & Manga Studios - Mike Dio & Dan Feliciano of Exclamation Innovations teach you how to sharpen your digital art skills. This great workshop features a demo and Q&A session for Intermediate users to Advance users. Room 142
2:45 PM - 3:45 PM: Drawing Word Game - During this game, AWA’s Guest Artist Darren Soto will ask for 3 words from 3 different people in the audience, and then draw a picture using those words. Room 142
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Ray, Tim, and Rob Presents...PANELCAST - Raymond Francis, Timothy D. Craggette and Robert Spencer host a live version of the Ray, Tim, and Rob podcast where audience participants can ask questions about comic book creation and participate in a live show. Room 142

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: MEDIA MARVELS with Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg -Author Andy Hershberger and world-renowned zombie expert, comics historian, and scholar, Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg discuss why Marvel is an unprecedented modern media mythology! This preview of Dr. Blumberg's course at the University of Baltimore studies the many themes that weave throughout this sprawling saga of heroes and villains. Room 103A
