Teaching Comics!

Art Way Alliance offers art classes, panels, and events that teach children how to create their own characters, comics, manga, cartoons, anime and/or video games. Our classes can focus solely on the creative process or incorporate STEAM and/or common core elements into an art integrated curriculum. Best of all, we come to you!

We partner with schools, libraries, and other organizations to provide this service at minimum costs. Whether after-school art classes or a pop-up anime event, we offer a fantastic, tailored experience that inspires your students to learn, discover, and tell their own stories in their own original way.

Introduction to comic book/Manga/Game creation

Students become acquainted with the various occupations needed to create a complete and finished project while simultaneously developing and defining their own artistic skills and style.

Character Design

Students will learn what makes a character dynamic in both appearance and personality. They will also discover the basics of drawing a person and construct their character’s surrounding environment and personal history. If desired, students will incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into their character design.

Comic/Manga/Gaming Writing and illustrating

Students will learn how to write, develop, and illustrate an engaging narrative.

The Art of Storytelling/Sequential Art

Students will learn the basics of storyboarding including, but not limited to, gesture drawing, depicting scripts, and assessing the major events of a story.
