It's Free Comic Book Day! Come celebrate with us at the Accokeek Library's Comic Con, presented by Literacy Through Comics. A 4-H youth service learning project, Literacy Through Comics (LTC) was developed to encourage reading by highlighting the literary value of comic books and graphics novels. The first Comic Con held in Prince George's County, this premier event will include panel discussions, kid friendly activities, a cosplay and costume contest and, of course, us! Art Way Alliance will be there with some awesome artists and amazing workshops that will focus on creating comic books. You don't want to miss out! 

Be sure to register in advance for this event, either in person at the Accokeek Branch or via phone by calling 301-292-2880.  You can also support the Summering Reading Program at the local Freedom School by bringing a new family-friendly comic book or graphic novel to the event!
