Fan Art Competition – 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Can you draw the most Spectacular Spider-man? Have you impressed people with your superb drawings of Superman? Impress our judges with your best drawing of your favorite comic book or cartoon character during AWA's Fan Art contest!

20 spaces available. Priority registration given to students ranging from kindergarten to college. All others will be wait listed.

Comic Book Writers STEM Story Pitch Competition – 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Do new story ideas come to you and you just have to get them down in your notebook? Do you enjoy writing about new worlds and characters that you and your friends come up with? Then come put your writing skills to the test by entering AWA’s and our good friends at Red Stylo Media’s comic book writers contest!

Part 1: Describe your story in three sentences. Name the main character, what they want most and the main obstacle to getting it.

Part 2: Tell us what happens in your 8-page story from beginning to end. No surprises—tell us what happens. “First…, Then…, In the End…” You must limit your story description to a single page. Remember your pitch for this competition is for an 8-page story. It can be the beginning of a bigger story or series, but your story pitch must have a clear ending or cliffhanger.

Sign up at the AWA booth 1 hour (2pm) before the start time and receive additional contest details.

Original Character Competition - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Have you created the coolest character this side of the multi-universe? Come show them off during AWA's Original Character Contest! Character should be your own creation and have a backstory.

Comic Book Cover Competition - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

Today, We're judging a book by its cover. Draw your own comic book illustration that shows an original or established character in a dynamic pose and interesting environment. Contestants must also include eye catching text to advertise the character.
