Chigozie McOliver-Onuegbu was one of our first students. Held at a local art supply store in the Southern Maryland area, the young artist learned the basics for creating a comic book from teacher Keir Lyles. Since then, he has gone to create his own characters and gained a new found confidence in his work.

According to his mother, Dr. McOliver, the 11 year old has become more comfortable with coloring and inking since his class with us. He also studies different comics books and graphic novels for inspiration. She has also observed that Chigozie is both excited and more comfortable with working on his own. His imagination and creativity has blossomed, and she believes that he is becoming empowered and confident in other aspects of his life.

Currently, Chigozie is working on developing new characters and his own artistic style. He keeps a note book full of sketches and notes the key traits and powers of his characters. We can't wait to see more!
