Awesome Con and the New Normal

We are so excited to announce that Art Way Alliance will host three drawing contests during Awesome Con 2021 from August 20th to August 22nd, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. This will be our eighth year at Awesome Con, and given the collective hardship and turmoil we all experienced during the past year and a half, we imagine our followers, supporters, and most importantly, our students, are more than ready to participate in a family-friendly lighthearted nerdy art competition. 

AWA is lucky to work with super powered artists who cannot wait to bring art back to the classrooms and conventions, but we understand that the transition back to in person events will be challenging as we learn how to safely interact with each other again. We acknowledge that even with the Washington Metropolitan area opening up, there is still a lot of anxiety and discomfort as we adjust to an even newer normal. We want to reassure you that Art Way Alliance is working closely with Awesome Con’s Event Planning Management Team to ensure the most current and science-based COVID-19 safety guidelines will be properly and consistently enforced throughout the con and our contests. Internally, we are ensuring that all swag, prizes, and handouts for this event are properly sanitized and handled to the best of our ability. Art Way Alliance remains dedicated to providing art education pop-ups and convention programming in safe and healthy environments.
